Semba Workshop - February 1st
Welcome to a brand new workshop with Team Akusabo! Akusabo is a dance group based in Gothenburg, and for over 10 years we’ve been teaching Angolan dances Kizomba and Semba, from different schools and festivals around Scandinavia, to our own dance home today. You can find us as Akusabo on Facebook and Instagram.
On February 1st, we’re excited to introduce you to Semba: a joyful, playful and energetic couple dance full of rhythm, expression and connection. In this 1,5-hours workshop, we’ll explore the foundations of Semba, focusing on musicality, communication in the couple, and having fun together on the dance floor.
This workshop is open to all levels and works perfectly whether you’re new to Angolan dances or already dancing Kizomba, Semba, or other partner dances.
After the workshop, we’ll continue with social dancing, keeping the vibe open and welcoming – playlist suggestions are always encouraged!
Price: FREE
No partner needed – just bring comfortable shoes, good energy, and curiosity!

EVERY FRIDAY: CHAOS PRACTICE TIME!
Every Friday we meet in Chalmers Union Building, right in front of J.A Pripps. We have an open playlist, which naturally and generally turns a bit chaotic, which is why we lovingly refer to our Fridays as “Chaos Fridays”. We frequently see dances such as Bugg, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Bachata, Lindy Hop, Argentine Tango, and Ballroom dances in our hangouts. Sometimes we have even seen Burlesque dancing and Bollywood dancing – you never know what might show up! Feel free to bring your own dance: we are many that are eager to see and try out new things!
Our Friday’s are an unofficial arrangement by volunteering members of CSDA and completely FREE and open for EVERYONE. WELCOME!
